Top 10 LeMay Events of 2007 (part 1)

posted Thursday, 27 December 2007

We can be as unimaginative as the next people - so we're presenting our Top 10 LeMay Events of 2007!  It's been a very fun, exciting, busy, crazy, wild year - and we have a lot of people to thank for it.  Do you have your favorite LeMay moment(s) of the year?  Write a comment and share with us and others.  Is there something you'd like to see us do (or not do) in 2008?  We want to hear from you!!

We started this Blog in September of 2006, but really didn't get into until this year... and now we have e-memories (proof? evidence? alibis?) of our antics.  So, let's get started!

Drum roll, please...

#10 - Having Fun at Others' Expense!!

Wait, maybe we should rephrase that... having fun while others have to do all the work to make the event happen!!  That's it.  Usually, if we're having fun - it's because we planned the party or event.  But, there were a few times this year where all we had to do was show up (and off).  Such as... A Night of Leather and Lace (1/17/07) sponsored by the Barony of All Vermont.  And there was a night of Drag Karaoke in Colchester. And there was the night of December 1 where Lucy and Amber went on a spree.  And there were some of the Poof! shows... in March and in April.  And on April 21, we went to our good friend Serena's 30th Birthday Party.  This was right after the April Poof! (see above).  On the way to the party we had a little fun, too.

#9 - New Year's Eve

New Year's Eve has always been a special night for The House of LeMay... it was on such a celebration that Amber & Margaurite first appeared in Chittenden County with our good friends at Vermont Gay Social AlternativesThis past Eve it was at the St. John's Club.

#8 - Fools Fest

We were asked to appear/perform at the 2nd annual Fools Fest (3/31/07) to benefit the Edmunds Middle School Drama Program - or as we like to call it - Future Drag Queens of America.  It was at the Contois Auditorium in Burlington - and we (and they) had fun!

#7 - Mardi Gras

The parade was postponed for a week, but that didn't stop Amber and Lucy from having their Mardi Gras fun.  It was the first year in several that we didn't have a float.  We decided that all of that time putting the float together, tossing the beads/candy and tearing the float apart could be spent in a better way - by drinking.  And that's what we did... and that's why we put this disclaimer on our blog post: Our thanks (and sincere apologies for any perceived misbehavior) to Red Square, RiRa's, Sweetwater's, Finnigan's, the  O.P. and any other establishment we stumbled into.

#6 - Gay Pride Day

No one had more Pride than the House of LeMay!!  And we were busy this year!!  First we were asked to judge the Mr. Pride Contest.  That was FUN!!!  And our own Pierre LaBatt was a contestant!  Then, we had Bob Bolyard and Johnnie McLaughlin build our float for us and they were featured on NPR's All Things Considered!  And then there was the Parade, the Festival and the parties!!

Wow!  We DID have fun!!  Check here for the Top 5!!
