To Highgate and Back - The Miss Relay Contest
Our good friend Tim Kavanagh of the great television show Late Night Saturday with Tim Kavanagh asked us to be judges - along with the esteemed Bunny Warren - for the Miss Relay Contest. This was part of the Franklin County branch of the American Cancer Society's annual fund raiser - Relay for Life. It was held in Highgate, Vermont The constestants were men, dressed as women... sort of.
Maggie couldn't make it. She was having an adverse reaction to her mixing Jagermeister and belly button lint. So it was up to me (Amber) and Lucy to represent the House. 
We left Beaver Pond in time to view the sunset, make a stop at the Georgia rest area and still get to the Franklin County Field Days grounds for the event. For our musical enjoyment we chose to listen to "80's Flashback" - a compilation of great disco songs put together by DJ Rob Douglas. Lucy was driving... a bit too fast at times...
When we finally got to Highgate Center and the Franklin County Field Days (emphasis on fields) we were ushered to the "Talent Trailer" where we met Tim and Bunny.
We had a chance to tour the grounds (emphasis on ground). Lucy got buggy and Bunny and Amber went shopping!
And then the beauty contest began...
And the winner is... Marissa!!!! We understand that Marissa shops at one of our favorite places... Old Gold!!
Well, we left Highgate at 1am. It had a been a "dry" event so Lucy and I were hoping to get back to Burlington and the 1/2 Cocked party at 1/2 Lounge. Nope. Couldn't do it. Did you know that the speed limit in Winooski is 25MPH? Lucy does now.
Well what fun. Two contest in one week - Are you gals going to be running
for office or sumpin. Now from the Pics I can see why it was best I
stayed in Beaver Pond. It would have been an awful upset if Liza were to
out shine some of the contestents.
What fun! Such talent,poise and beauty....oh, and the contestants were
good,too! I've looked in several stores and still cannot find that lovely
perfume LucyBelle was wearing...Deet? No matter. It was my distinct
pleasure to "work" with you ladies at the Relay for Life. With luck and
love,we'll be able to join forces again!

Hello Darlings, Crystal here. I am so sorry to be missing all the fun. I am
here, at the park, with Cousin Liza running the Little Beavers of Beaver
Pond summer drama camp and oh my what talent we have! Cousins Lucybelle and
