The Last 135 GLBT Community Pageant

posted Wednesday, 11 June 2008

It was 2003 that the last Pageant for Queen of the 135 GLBT Community was held. It was held on June 7th at 135 Pearl. It is hard to think that it has been 5 years since a queen has been chosen for the community. I, Lucy Belle LeMay, was a contestant in this pageant. Before we could have the pageant to pick a new Queen we said farewell to Ivy the 2002 Queen.

We said Farewell by lipsyncing a song that Ivy had done on stage in the past year. It was fun.  After doing our Farewell it was time...

The first Queen of the 135 GLBT Community was Sabella Markiewicz "2000". Yes, that is me with Sabella. This Pageant was produced and hosted by the House of LeMay.

The Queen for 2001 was Naomi G' and the King was Dalton.

Queen for 2002 was Ivy Infusion. She was fun, that girl could do a cartwheel and split without a problem.

Now for the 2003 contestants. See if you remember them and if you still see them around. They are Fluffy Bushey and Marcella LaDerrierre.

Ivanna Cockatoo, sorry no photo, and Chloe who also was the Queen of Drag Ball one year. And myself, Lucy Belle LeMay.

The First Runner Up or the Princess of Pearls was Summer Clearance.

The 2003 (and last) Queen of the 135 GLBT Community was Porscillana Devereaux!!

You're right Lucy, I don't see any of the other contestants around... however every August I see signs all over town that say "Summer Clearance" - I go in to see if she's performing - and she isn't there.
