On Sunday, March 23, Bob went to see Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA) speak at Borders. The senator was in town because he and our very own Senator Pat Leahy (D-VT) were going to hold a hearing of the Judicial Committee in Rutland on Monday concerning a(nother) recent drug-related murder. Senator Specter has recently written a book, Never Give In, about his history of health ailments – including a recent bout with cancer and how his work in Washington helped him live through it all. Earlier that day the senator had appeared on CNN via satellite and earlier in the week was pretty funny on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. In person he was humorous and personable.
Bob went because the senator’s son is a graduate of the University of Vermont College of Medicine where Bob is a standardized patient/instructor. He had worked with the son, S.E. Specter, for four years and didn’t make the father/son connection until graduation day last May.
I thought this said "Sphincter Sighting," seeing that it was about Bob and
his being a standardized patient and all.
Please get your "inquiring mind" out of Bob's butt... he's mine!
