Slingbacks & Syrup - An Update
Well, last weekend wasn't just Drag Ball... The House of LeMay got to see the "work in progress" documentary being created about us - Slingbacks & Syrup. Here's a previous post about it. What fun!!! And how exciting. Last Friday Russel submitted this piece to the NewFest in NYC, Frameline in San Francisco and the Provincetown International Film Festival. We should know by the end of April if it's accepted. If that's the case, a finished product will have to be to them by mid-May.
Russell has spent literally hundreds of hours putting this together. There are many expenses that go into creating and submitting films to festivals. Although our good friend Roger Mapes (the infamous Yolanda) has donated his talents and songs to add to the piece, we are still needing additional funds to secure rights to other music that would make Slingbacks and Syrup that much better.
If you'd like to see the House of LeMay reach a worldwide (yes!) audience, please consider donating to this cause. Originally, Russell was hoping to have a working budget of $20,000. He's been working with a LOT less than expected. Slingbacks and Syrup is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization.
