Earlier this week I mentioned that I LOVE to look at www.queerty.com for news and bitchiness. Another site that I frequent is www.craigslist.com (each state has their own version). It's a great place to find a job, look for an apartment, to rant & rave, or to hook up with whatever it is you want to hook up with/for. A few days ago there was this announcement:

I'm a newspaper reporter researching a human interest story on shopping in Burlington. Where do you shop for your unique housewares, gifts, and clothing in Burlington? Can be a consignment shop, boutique, coffee-shop-slash-art-shop, whatever. If you can suggest some interesting places, I may be able to feature your name in the story with your description of the store and what you can find there. I'm trying to stay away from big-name-national franchise stores such as Target, Walmart, Kmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Depot, etc. This is all about mom-n-pop shops and independent entrepreneurs. Thanks!
Well!! Someone asking my opinion on something? An opportunity to get some ink and attention? I'm in!!!
As you regular visitors here know, the House of LeMay LOVES to shop at Old Gold. If we have a special event (Mardi Gras, Halloween, Pride, Thursday afternoon or DRAG BALL) we'll go there to see what we can find. The staff is really nice! You tell them what you want and they'll find something for you. If you don't see it, ask! They've got storage for days!! Clothing, accessories, shoes, wigs, hose - everything a drag queen (or any other kind of queen) needs to spice up their life. Vintage or brand new - it's all unique.
Lucy LOVES them!! See...
Lucy stopped by during her tour of the town last Mardi Gras day.

Lucy takes a break at Old Gold with our Goddess Cara (left) during the 2007 AIDS Walk. And, Lucy needed a new "cocktail" dress for P-town. Where did she go? Old Gold, of course!
