September 11, 2001: Gay Victims & Heroes

posted Tuesday, 11 September 2007

When you ask what difference does it make if the heroes were gay, I say, I agree with you.  That’s precisely our point.  They were just like everybody else.  So we ask, why is it that when they died, they were equal to everyone, but had they lived, they would not have the same equality as heterosexuals?”

-Judy Wieder, editor in chief of The Advocate

Most definately posted in very POOR taste! I am apalled and offended(please dont ask me my reasons). To use these brave people. FOR WHAT? A cause that we are not winning, but not losing, either? The last thing on their minds, when they went into those buildings, to do their jobs, was their sexual orientation. But YOU feel it should be used as a tool for a cause? SHAME ON YOU!
