NYC Pride Report from our roving reporter and some roving Vermonters

posted Monday, 29 June 2009

NYC Pride is always a lot of fun.  A giant parade, tons of happy people, great weather, food, festivals, marches, and just about anything else you could want.  And with this year being the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots - there was a lot to celebrate.  A couple of our friends from Vermont decided to visit and take in the sights.  And what sights they were, especially those with their shirts off!  Below is a selection of pictures from the event.  To see how The House of LeMay commemorated the day, click HERE.

Like many pride events, the march kicked off with Dykes on Bikes!

Followed by some hot Boys on Bikes!

And of course, our favorite... The Mess in a Dress!

Oscar winner, and author of "Milk", Dustin Lance Black was one of the grand marshals.

The Mayor and the Governor marched to show their support, and get a few new votes.

Mama Jean, the Grand Marshal of the parade in 1970 was there to celebrate 40 years of the parade, and show off some parts to the cheering crowd!

If you look closely, and you have lived in Vermont for a while, you might recognize someone in this picture!

The FLAGGOTS proudly march and wave!

NYC's finest!

Marching for those who cannot march for themselves.

The Pleasure Chest handed out novelty spankers along the route.  Never have more people been spanked in one Pride parade!

A gay volleyball player!

Front...

...back.

The t-shirts say it all.

And of course, when the parade is over, a girl's gotta eat!

That looks like it was a lot of fun. That girl at the end that sat down to eat. She should try a salad. Love you Todd. I hope Burlingtons Pride Parade will be that colorful. Is the roving reporter going to make it to Vt. Pride?
