More Gay Songs - this time by straight guys

posted Tuesday, 8 April 2008

A few weeks ago we gave you THE list of THE gayest songs ever recorded along with links to videos to all but one of them.  You can take another look at the list (or take a gander for the first time) by clicking on the disco ball.

Now we've come across a list of "Ten straight songs about gay men" on www.afterelton.com. It's ten songs written or performed by straight artists about gay (or, in one case, transgender) men.  You can check out the list (complete with linked videos) by clicking HERE

But, we'll give you some of it here... in no particular order...

Rod Stewart doing The Killing of Georgie Part 1 + 2.  Thought this was a funny choice, not the song, but the artist.  Is anyone old enough to remember the rumor about him and Elton John?  Plus the picture they use of Rod doesn't make him look too straight, either.

The Kinks and their song Lola.  There is NO truth to the rumor that this song was inspired by Amber getting Kink"y".

Bruce Springsteen doing Streets of Philadelphia.  Gotta love The Boss.

Willie Nelson's Cowboys are Frequently, Secretly Fond of Each Other.  A funny video with Burt Reynolds.

Others are Big Gay Heart by the Lemonheads, Michael by Franz Ferdinand, Johnny Are You Queer by Josie Cotton, Real Men by Tori Amos (gotta read why she's on this list), Pizazz by Peter Curtis and... their choice for number one...Nature Boy by Nat King Cole.
