June - Bustin' OUT

posted Wednesday, 1 July 2009

Heading into the last month of the first half of the year we didn't slow down a bit.  After all, we know that it's hard to hit a moving target.  From recaps to pictures to information to fun stuff, we published 29 blog entries in June.  THAT'S why you should check back here EVERYday... just sayin!

The BIGGEST event for us in the month of June was when the gay television network LOGO came to town to make a tourism show about Vermont... and one of the nights was with US!!  We hosted another round of Queer Pub Quiz and the the show will air in February.  Don't worry, we'll post more information when we get it!

With Two Friends closing in May, a lot of people started hanging out at Half Lounge.   We started the month by telling you what happened the last day of May... A Tea Dance!  DJ Rob Douglas has taken up semi-residence at the small club on Church Street, playing on most Sundays with DJ Moonflower.  Bob and Johnnie sent us pictures from the first Funhouse event and then we returned at the end of the month to give our Tribute to Stonewall.  To find out when the next Funhouse takes place (and other fun gay stuff) you want to save THIS LINK as one of your "favorites" and check it often.

This damn recession has Hank down at the Beaver Pond Pork By-Products Processing Plant (BPPBPPP) in a tizzy.  But he keeps at it (much like us LeMays!).  Someone else has started marketing a bacon-flavored vodka - something he's been trying to do for years (Pork -The Other White Liquor).  And then there was his mutton-flavored processed product we told you about in "Are Ewe a Fan of Spamb?"  We wish Hank the best.

Johnnie and Bob were nice enough to take Lucy and Amber to the Hudson Valley Pride celebration.  The day/night before though, Russell took the boys out and got them... a bit tipsy (Our Queens in Queens).  But the boys were good enough on Sunday night to go see their new bestest friend, Isis Vermouth at Primetime.

Bob was out and about Burlington making posts for BobTown.  There were pictures about Wicked Weather, his third annual post about the World Naked Bike Ride, news about openings and closings on Church Street with Musical Stores, a rave about the O.N.E. Farmers Market, added his remorse to chorus singing about the Green Mtn. Chew Chew Leaving the Station, and ended the month with a sneak peak at the opening of the Bluebird Tavern

For the FYI part of the blog, we told were to go to find the Gay Campgrounds in New England,  that a Vermont gay teen made the national spotlight, that Craig Mitchell was ready to give us a LIFT!, in A Note from Nurse Ann Thrax we were informed of a new product to avoid getting one's hands dirty, and we informed you on the birthdays of Barry Manilow and Alfred Kinsey

With Vermont celebrating Gay Pride in July there were some fundraisers and the one that we reported on was a dance party at Higher Ground.

However, our favorite posts are about when we go out on the town.   And this month we were out to celebrate the Burlington Jazz Festival as well as a Saturday night to just go out and party!

Whew!! That was a busy month.  To see what we've done so far in 2009, click HERE.
