Going to the (Ira Allen) Chapel...

posted Sunday, 19 April 2009

Well, we had another first on Saturday, April 18, 2009... (and at our age having any firsts left is hard to believe).  We appeared in the Ira Allen Chapel on the campus of the University of Vermont to host the Catamount Dance Crew spring showcase.   What fun!!

We were treated so nicely.

Our green room was the Martin Luther King, Jr. Room.

Where they had a nice spread of food and goodies for us.

Margaurite was happy... something to suck and blow... and some caffeine... it was going to be a long night!

Amber found the MLK quotes written on the wall to be inspiring..."Forgiveness is not an occasional act.  It is a permanent attitude." and "Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend."

The night was a fund and awareness raiser for Autism Speaks.

During the show our job was to introduce the many acts and numbers.  We also used the time to tell the audience a bit about us.  Lucy told them that the shoes she was wearing were once on display at the Fleming Museum in their "Heel to Toe" exhibit.

We don't have any pictures of us from out front... hope to get some from someone soon.

Since it was a dance recital, we did a dance of our own.  We did the "Itchy Twitchy" line-dance number.  They loved it.

After we were done with this show, we headed out Williston Road to Higher Ground for the Third Saturday Dance Party.
