Flaming Flamingos

On Thursday, June 12, over a hundred people and 42 flamingos gathered at the St. John's Club for an event for the South End Arts + Business Association (SEABA) that they called The Flamingo Fling. Our buddy Bob Bolyard works for the group as coordinator for the annual South End Art Hop and took these pictures for us. Bob, Mike, Johnnie and Matt also decorated some flamingos (right) and submitted them under our name - The House of LeMay. Thanks guys!

People would bid on the birds in a silent auction.
The one on the left was created by Candy Barr and is called "Vote Obama." The one on the right is "Sex and The City:Carrie" and was donated by the Creative Office Pavillion.
Mary Sullivan created "Colorful Bliss." The crowd enjoyed their bbq meal outside along the lake.
"Fair Game" by Kaya Robinson and "Royal Blue" by Sandra Mudge.
"Spike" by Garth Kaufman and "Pink Elephant" by Aaron Toth.
Mistress Mauve of Seven Days fame decorated this one called "My Little Pet."
The Reverend Diane Sullivan, also of Seven Days, donated "Pretty Pretty" which was won by St. John's Club bartender Jesse Bean.
Wendy Mike of the Burlington Free Press holds her two winnings... "She Wondered" by 'fia which was also voted by the crowd to be "Flock Favorite" and Mauve's pet. We went to Wendy's house on the day of Mardi Gras Parade.
The day ended with a glorious sunset.
